    George,

Fascinating. Especially the last number presented - the number of songs downloaded illegally :)

I don't really like the idea of a computer being smarter than me in 2013 but I suppose I'mn not the brightest crayon in the box anyhow.

It is interesting to see the numbers that prove the west isn't growing as fast as everyone else. At the rate the world is evolving, I don't know how we will manage the risk that these new opportunities will present.

    That's where George comes in....

  3. I wonder how many times the Fat Boy Slim track "Right Here Right Now" was downloaded illegaly as a result of that presentation heh.

Seriously though some of the numbers pickle my tiny British mind, that data transfer rate is awesome, I want a web connection like that!

So assuming my answer was 'No, I did not know that', what's the answer to the final poser, 'what does it all mean?'. My answer is a shrug and a dodge as I'm more interested in why someone thinks everything must mean something. Alternatively it could be seen as accelerating towards H+, there's only one way to find out and that's to get there.

Pretty cool. What does it all mean? Opportunity.

My favorite part was the question of who answered all of those Google queries before Google? Awesome question, because the answer is that really no one answered them. The questions weren't asked and didn't get answered.

It's like asking where did Americans drink coffee before Starbucks? Before Starbucks, most Americans didn't drink as much coffee, just like B.G. (before Google) most people didn't have the expectation that their every information need (trivial and important) could be answered.

  5. I most certainly believe we are hitting a wall somewhere in the future. And I also believe this will be the most substantial change we've seen so far in modern human history (since B.C.+). I think we will see a reorganization of our society in the field of economics, politics an morals etc.

  6. What does it mean? It means that I'll be needing that cybernetic auxiliary brain sooner rather than later.
