Symptom of the modern age

The fact that this type of software exists and that I could actually benefit from it is very disturbing to me. How about you guys? Is this a symptom of the modern age where every minute of our lives is accounted for? And then some?

Believe it or not, I built something like this once. There was a period at my last job where my responsibilities could not be completed in less than 60 hours a week. After complaining about this with no response, I built a logging system with 15 minute increments to keep track of it all, and even got the IT guy to have send me emails when specific time limits had expired.
When my boss asked why it was taking so long to get my work done, I gave him a three hundred page printout of the last three months. His eyes bugged out and he hired me an assistant.
